SC5 Character Modding Randomn Facts and Tips

nightmare's arms are longer than height 5
astaroth is taller than height 5
copying their height code will give the creations same attack range
NEVER copy male height code to female characters, your female creations will have ugly ass arms, and short ass legs
generally height 1~5 regular creations have the same attack range as canon creations with some minor differences, you do not need to worry about them.

if you want to make male character voice sounds pseudo female, try pitch 37~40.
this works with canon character voice when you swap it onto a female character, BUT because the facial structures are different between male and female characters, female faces will get deformed when you apply male voice except when you use voldo and aeon voice

you can apply the basic shape motif stickers as pasties when you apply the topless mod. things like hearts, spades, and stars work great, you can also use the chinese "10" cross sticker and rotate it to make it look like an X symbol. placing them both properly is somewhat hard, but here's the best values that I am satisfied with.

heart stick size 4? size 3 a bit small, size 4 a bit big
star sticker size 3
vertical ticks 40 from right
horizontal ticks 42 from right for one sticker, 42 ticks from left for the other side

downward triangle sticker, same as star, but 41 vertical
vertical 41 ticks from right
horizontal 42 ticks from left

chinese "10" cross sticker size 6
vertical 40 ticks from right
horizontal 41 from right, game will glitch to 42 if your hover over the option, but you can change it back
no horiz flip, rotate 37 ticks from left
horiz flip, rotate 37 ticks from right

tailless kitty meow suit is NOT POSSIBLE, kitty meow is all in one, can't remove any part of the costume, but this also means you can hide other equipments inside kitty meow suit without conflict.

inside a soul calibur 5 save file, you can actually move creations from 1 slot to another easily. each creation does not have a slot number attached to it, so you can just copy paste your character from slot 1 to slot 5 and the save file can read it without error. you can even use creations you made from 1 console to another as long as both players bought the same dlc parts used for the creations. I was able to use creations from xbox 360 on a ps3 save file without any changes.
--> a little tip on copying characters: since you know the beginning of a character slot is always 01 00 00 00 00 0B, you can create a character in the game, and call it "transfer slot" or something, then after you load the save file, search for this name, scroll to the top of this current character slot and paste in the character you want to copy to. why do I do this? because if a creation slot is simply unoccupied, I might not be able to locate the beginning header bytes of the empty slot, and if I fail to copy correctly, the game will not be able to load the save at all. better safe than sorry.

if you know something I don't, please share below, thx

  1. Hey awesome stuff here!!!
Thanks for the info, i have been modding for a while and found some stuff that you dont have listed, so if you dont mind perhaps i can share and then maybe pose some questions i have... ok:

Yoshimitsu and Ezio have secret weapons assigned at byte 12...
The weapons are basically the same visually however the audio of the weapons is dramatically changed... So some moves have no sound and this quiet strike sometimes make opponents think you whiffed as even there characters wont make pain sounds indicating there hit while some moves like flea and spark make extremely loud sounds like huge thunder rumbles, its ear catching to say the least...
Also, i found a secret foreground picture... number 51 is not available in creation mode, however if you can access with hex editing, it is an image from Namco's Pacman of The red ghost blinky! It seems like opponents can randomly see it only, while other times they claim my character picture was identical to another character they have saved... wierd...
Anyway if you go into creation mode to shoot a picture you will see an image of blinky, and the foreground slot will say 51... the other wierd thing is that right when you enter shoot a picture mode, it appears that the camera is coming from inside your Character. ..
It makes me wonder what secret shoot a picture back and foregrounds there are?
Also i know you probably dont lije proportion mods, but in addition to tiny and giant CaS i also found an XXL character who is 100s of times larger than Astaroth, making his foot bigger than even the infinite stages! Really no use though, however giving ZWEI some wierd proportions (tiny upper body on regular sized legs) causes his EIN to morph too, making him hilariously deformed and alters even his attacks to where he is unusuable but almost his own unique style

On texture mods, 00 01are male.and females texture sets...i think 2 and 3 are astaroths texture sets and like you said 04 gives ugly stripes... i have tried about a hundred different bytes here, while none crashed the game i found some anamolies...
I settled on byte 22 for texture set code...
I have an IronMan character and this texture set gives him a nice red glow making his armor have a little extra uniqueness... since he is mostly covered in armor the areas where his skin shows will shine, flicker, glow or pulsate a bright red depending what level im on...
Also depending what level im on my body proportions change too! sometimes my ironman is normal, sometimes he is fat or big shoulders and once he had ivys body(skiny with boobs!) What is going on here?
I cannot replicate the random changes they appear randomly...
Also i have been getting alot of messages from opponents that claim when this paticular texture mod breaks armor it is crazy and something they have never seen before. .. watching the replays i notice different armor break effects but my eyesight is not so good and its time grinding to test...
That brings me to my questions:
I have seen a character armor break before into a dozen yoshimitsu flags on the floor...

    1. By the way, the astaroth texture is actually not accessed through that way, it's actually his 1P character model minus the armor pieces.

If you go to character creation mode and create a 3P Astaroth character using his body, and then read the hex, you will see what I mean.

  2. It was like the creation was a pinata full of yoshi flags!
When i asked the guy how he did this yoshimitsu flag armor break he laughed and said texture mod. ..
This guy also had a four arm creation!
The method he said he used was convoluted but it worked...
First he said start with two characters in slots right next to each other...say 7 and 8 then copy the body and equpiment code from 7 and right at your characters name, paste over this going into slot 8... he said this causes slot 8 to be unusable, however it makes slot seven have extra call offsets basically calling two models at once! Hence the four arms...
Speaking of four arms, did they release the four arm DLC in japan only? And if so, is it possible to be unlockable via hexing? I saw this special equipment in my strategy guide, but alas thats where the trail goes cold...
Thanks for the info again, any new things i find ill let you know

    1. Did you record a video of it? That sounds awesome, I have never seen it before.

    2. I wonder if your game can even store the replay of a character like that since you said his character is stored like that. I wonder if you can just copy his character into your own game like that.
